The Issue: The Endangered Species Act (ESA) is perhaps the most important federal wildlife law that assists in the protection of manatees and other endangered and threatened species. Public support for the ESA has remained strong over the years, and citizens across the political spectrum believe it is important to protect America’s wildlife and habitat. But we cannot achieve the recovery we need for endangered and threatened animals without continued support from members of Congress
What You Can Do:Please take a couple of minutes and let your U.S. senators and representative know that you support keeping the Endangered Species Act strong and oppose any attempts to weaken protections for wildlife and important habitat.

I Support a Strong Endangered Species Act
Dear [Decision Maker],
Today is Endangered Species Day, and I am writing to express my support for the Endangered Species Act (ESA). Over the years, the ESA has prevented many species from going extinct and helped many other species to recover. I urge you to keep the ESA strong and oppose any attempts to weaken protections for wildlife and important habitat.
Thank you for your consideration.
