HB 1641

Take Action!

House Bill 1641 aims to strip local governments and state agencies of their authority to regulate single-use or reusable cups, bottles, bags, and other packaging used for transporting, consuming, or protecting goods, food, or beverages from retail or food establishments. If enacted, this bill would eliminate existing regulations in state parks such as the Ichetucknee River, Rainbow River, Weeki Wachee River, and numerous coastal communities. Consequently, the passage of HB 1641 would likely lead to an increase in litter entering our local waterways.

HB 1641 will be heard in the House State Affairs Committee at 9:00 a.m. on Wednesday, February 14th, so take action before 5 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 13th! It only takes a moment to send a pre-written, but customizable, email to members of the committee. Take a moment now and urge them to VOTE NO on HB 1641.
